Hi I am new to this forum but not new to Runrig, been a fan since 1995. I am coming to Loch Ness but have been let down by friends and so am coming on my own. I wondered if anyone else was in the same position Cath

Cath, welcome to the MB. I hope you hang around and join in. If you look through this meets section, you will see that quite a lot of folks are planning on meeting up in Drumnadrochit before the gig. I am sure you will be made welcome and could "tag" along!! There should be 15,000 of us there, so you won't be alone for long!!

Hi Cath! Yep, I’ll be travelling up there on my own as well, as I have done before to the Hebridean Celtic Festival (twice! - the second time was when Runrig played there too :-)

On all occasions I have spontaneously met people to talk to & enjoy the music with. Don’t worry, I’m sure it’s going to be great & you will not regret the effort you made to get there! Where will you be staying?

I'm going to the gig on my own but in the week leading up to it I'm going to be visiting Skye and North Uist for some rest and relaxation and a lot of walking.

I have not made my mind up about the Friday night but I will be camping on the Saturday night.

My origional plan was to drive up early Saturday morning however having second thoughts given the problems T-in the Park had last weekend getting people into the carparks!

I'm going by myself too, but I'll be going to the meets whenever they are. Cath and co, please come along to the meets too - the more the merrier! Just keep your eyes on the meetings thread.

i'm newer than you are to this forum and will be at the runrig concert too. btw, greetings from sunny sri lanka. yep, i'm travelling half way across the globe to see one of my favourite groups in action.
possibly, i might end up there alone as well. what can we alone ppl do? perhaps get together during the show so that we're not so alone? across the countries and cultures...that might be interesting, don't you think?
and to be quite honest, one of my aims for my visit to scotland is to make at least one scottish friend.
what say you?

How do we people find one another there? are you guys all British nationals?

I am so looking forward to the conert. am staying at a inn in inverness....thought of taking in the sights at inverness and then head on to edinburgh on sunday night.

Drum's bound to be nice and crowded isn't i? But I am thrilled to learn that so many others are travelling alone, just as i am.

I'm going to the Drumnadrochit gig on my own, and it would be nice to meet up with some others who are on their own, but as several people have pointed out, we won't exactly be on our own with so many other people there! I'll be on Raasay for 2 weeks before, but don't think I will be able to access the internet, so will just have to turn up and hope to meet up with some of you.
