besides Gaelic books (bless my heart, what a challenge) Eagal san dorchadan and Dacha mo ghaoil... I finished Harry Potter 6 and before Deception Point by Dan Brown.

re deception point
struggled thro it but thot it was total "mince"
read da vinci twice - thot it very badly written but intruiging nonetheless
not intending to read any more dan brown
re comments about tolkien
read the hobbit at college - long time ago - and was totally unimpressed
havent read any of the others - dont like tolkien
also not a fan of harry potter - either books or movies
does this make me wierd???

Andrew Greig is one of my favourite authors - have read all his novels. All differnt, and all excellent.
Probably Electric Brae is my favourite, but they're all great. And the mountaineers here shouls read him too - he's a fan and an expert, as well as a poet and novelist.

Just starting 'Border Country' by Raymond Williams .............a novel about Welsh people set in Wales and deals with the myth and reality of the 1926 General Strike, as it was felt through Welsh history.

I am almost finished with Buddha Da.

I'll tell you, it was hard going at first, but I have assimilated all my brain waves to the phonetics now.

Currently reading Gerry Anderson's biography. And I've decided to join Fanderson so I can go to the Thunderbirds and Stingray etc conventions. biggrin.gif

Just finished Dracula by Bram Stoker wink.gif

Now reading We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver (I think that's HER surname!) Suitably twisted for me!

I Know You Got Soul by Jeremy Clarkson
He covers several of what he considers to be mans grea-*test*-('") mechanical inventions and tells great tales. Full of dry wit and humor and i personally find it hilarious...but i think you need the same sense of humor as the man himself... rolleyes.gif

Interesting read (humor aside) lots of pointless facts and figures that make these machines seems even more amazing than you already think they are, and you also find out who would win in a fight between James Bond, Terminator and Superman laugh.gif
