Not sure if this has been discussed before, but are there many people from here planning on using the campsite on the friday night? and are do you know how far away the nearest pub is?
Had my concert tickets from day one, but have just decided to camp.

Does anyone know if you can hire tents in that neck of the woods to save travelling with one?

realconon- 07-28-2007
Not sure about hiring, but you can get one in town (Argos/Tesco/Woolies) for under £20!! smile.gif

Are they water and wind proof laugh.gif ?

red65- 07-29-2007
Think all the tents are going to have to be that Willie, however contingency plan for getting rained out of our tent - sleep in the car!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm too old to be sleeping on the ground when it's anything but dry and warm!! Specially for two nights!!!!!!!!!! laugh.gif

ground!!!! GROUND MAT.... i knew i 4got something sad.gif

Then again, I got plenty of padding and I've done it b4. In fact, ground is probably softer than concrete.

Spud, f you want comfort, invest in a self-inflating thermarest. I ued to use those daft roll up foam mat things, then i got a thermarest - all i can say is kept me warm and comfortable for 3 and a half weeks

Asda are selling ground mats and air beds for £10 and less..... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I'll be tucked up snug and warm in a double bed, with king size duvet, flushing toilet, shower, gas heating/cooking, satalite tv for 2 weeks..... ah..... bliss..... the joys of a static caravan..... home from home...... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Sense of adventure went when many years ago due to ill health.... sad.gif As much as i would like to camp im not allowed..... sad.gif

Anyway after listening to torrential rain "bouncing" down on the caravan roof and the wind howling..... i can sleep in peace knowing i will be warm and dry and so will my belongings..... biggrin.gif

I'll be in my hotel room!! My sense of adventure went a few years ago when I started getting old!!!

I love camping, but I like my own personal toilet and shower!!! I have massive hang-ups with camping site toilets!! unsure.gif

I had a nasty experience when I was younger! I went into the shower block at Fort William to be faced by many European women walking about butt naked!! I know it wouldn't bother many of you males here, but I was 14years old and mortified, my sister and I didn't shower for the rest of our trip!! laugh.gif
