Adidas Superstars: still the best footwear ever invented biggrin.gif Were it not for the hole in the side of the right foot one my feet would have been basically dry and mud free. rolleyes.gif

next time i got to an outdoor gig remind me that i need wellys - my walking shoes kept my feet dry but are caked in mud - jacket etc are in the wash now!

Our boots were just cakes of mud, and our trousers.... I still can't figure out how I got mud on the hood of my jacket!! We did get some extremely strange looks from the folk in Asda at 5am traipsing round the shop looking as though we'd been off-roading in our hiking boots (we got washed out of our tent and as we were using the bedding from my other half's bed, we had to buy a new duvet and pillows before going home God bless 24 hour supermarkets!!!!!! laugh.gif )

I had a kilt & hiking boots on too. Whe I went back to the hotel to check on my wife, I changed into shorts - what a mistake as I was far warmer in my kilt !! But it was Muddy Marvelous. This was my first BIG Runrig outdoor gig as was offshore for Stirling, Loch Lomond etc, so having been a fan for over 31 years the weather didnt matter and I guess if I get to one again it must be in better weather than that. Bring it on!!!!!

Look on the bright side.if it had been hot sunny in the 30s we would have moaned we got sunburnt or suffered heat exhaustion biggrin.gif biggrin.gif laugh.gif

I remember Billy Connolly say "there is no such thing as bad weather, there is only inadequate clothing, weather is weather" and in many ways he is right rolleyes.gif

I just wish I had put more thought into the idea that it could rain non-stop I was totally convinced that the rain would stop and the sun come out as it did at Loch Lommond and we don't normally get two August Saturdays that the rain doesn't stop! cool.gif cool.gif

Next time waterproofs (top and bottoms), wellies, and no cotton tee shirt! Then I can play in the mud too! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I think we spent 2.5 hours in the car park at the end of the night. We were rescused and towed toward the exit but actually got stuck there again. Somehow Ozzy managed to get the car out of the hole after he'd sworn a lot (not sure if this helped?).

The next again day we were taking the tents down and some random guy stopped to take a photo of the car it was so covered in mud! laugh.gif I'm laughing now but God I'd have hated to have cleaned the car, it was caked in mud!

Thank heavens for my wellies and waterproofs...certainly proved that they are indeed waterproof biggrin.gif

Our walking shoes had to be soaked in a bucket. They are dry now but still stink! Our cagoules had to be hosed down. My waterproof hat was muddy! People were kicking ballons about and one hit me in the face!

biggrin.gif At one point during Ocean Road (when I wasn't bouncing) I realised that my feet had sunk in up to my ankles!! I nearly lost my hiking boots!!

How did you manage to bounce? A short time before Runrig started to play I noticed that I couldnt see my shoes anymore... so I could only nod because my shoes seemed to adhere on the ground... wink.gif

But it sounds funny when it bubbles in the shoes at every step biggrin.gif

That mud was nothing compared to T in the Park on the Friday!

In fact T in the Park was a great warm-up for Borlum because after it taking 7.5 hours to go the 14 miles from Perth to Balado, I just laughed when my mate started complaining about us getting stuck in traffic outside Drumnadrochit!

Wish I'd worn my wellies though, was very hungover when I left my house and for some bizarre reason decided to wear my good shoes!!

I decided if I was going to get wet? I might as well be comfortable - shorts and crocs. I can still fell the mud oozing in and out the holes and squelching between my toes.
No , the archeologists in 2,000 years won't find my croc. It was hard work on the way out in the mud, but I took them both home.
