It's great to see your photos Lionel - I'm pleased you're getting back to it. smile.gif

I spent the weekend getting in some practice ready for Easter. I was in Surrey, England with a friend from university, walking along the North Downs Way from Reigate to Dorking.
Thrashed out the final details of our 12 day walk up Offa's Dyke path from Chepstow to Prestatyn - roughly up the English-Welsh border. unsure.gif blink.gif

Very atmospheric, Puffin. And the toads look welded together!
They deserve place in Crunchie's beastie gallery. cool.gif

Lionel, that last photo is so stunning, it just looks beautiful. Glad you are managing to walk again.

Puffin, Loved the toads!!! ohmy.gif

To everyone who replied to my post,

Thank you very much for encouraging me. I feel that being back to walking, my sciatica is less painful. With the help of everyone's encouragement around me, things are getting even much better. My aim is to climb again Ben Nevis via Carn Mor Dearg arte in August with my friends. I hope the sciatica will be away by then.

To tell you the truth about the pictures,

the first picture was taken by my friend Alain. The lady in red is his wife Dominique.

the second picture was borrowed from the web to show you the view I had when I was in Megeve so I must be honest. The address of the picture is :

http://www.lenholgate.com/archives/images/...0Rochebrune.jpg

It's Mont Blanc seen from Megeve. The picture belongs to Len Holgate.

Sorry but I think that this must be clear. And when I borrow pictures I should always mention the owner of the picture. That is something I will do from now on.

Greetings from France,

Lionel

Lionel, I still think it is a lovely photo! Nice to know there are still honest folks in this world!

Thanks Realconon !!

Yes the picture is really great and so are the views over Mont Blanc. I recommend a visit of Chamonix to all people who visit the Northern Alps of France. I don't think Skye High Andy will disagree.

Greetings from the Alps,

Did a walk along the hills above the Cheddar Gorge in Somerset. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for the broadband to be connected in my new flat so I haven't put many phots up, but there's five at http://www.albumtown.com/showalbum.php?aid...uid=13735&var=1.

Tried out my new socks that I've bought ready for next weekend. About 8 miles and 400m ascent later my feet still feel fine, so that's good. smile.gif

Thanks Tim.

Just been to Cheddar once and your first photo view looks very familiar! Brings back great memories! smile.gif

Lovely pictures Lionel, Puffin and Tim. Thanks for those. Lionel, it's great to hear that you are getting better. Hope your Ben Nevis plans all work out in August.

Today I was out walking in Glen Lyon in Perthshire with 3 friends and we climbed Beinn Dearg, a corbett (830m). Despite the forecast it was a great day. Not too cold till on the summit itself. A couple of snow showers but visibility fine despite that. The views to Ben Lawers group (still loads of snow on those) and Rannoch were superb and we got the hill to ourselves. We got a chance to try out my new bothy bag and it certainly kept us warm for lunch, although it does get wet with condensation pretty quickly! The colour is a bit polluting but if you were lost or in trouble it would be easier for helpers to spot you, that's for sure! You can see the photos here but you may need shades! laugh.gif

Hi Sheila,

And thanks for your kind wishes and your hopes. I hope my dream becomes true.

Your pictures of Beinn Dearg are really nice. Really beautiful place... I like to see picures of mountains with some patches of snow remaining. I like this time of year on the hills when the tops are still covered in snow and when on lower grounds the grass is becoming green.

Sheila, are you on holiday in Scotland or was it just for the weekend ?

Greetings from France,

Lionel

SheilaB- 04-02-2006
Hi Lionel

Just the weekend, but from Friday I have a week's holiday and will be off to the far north with a friend for some hills and coastal walks, a few beers and generally relaxing! Can't wait. I usually take most of my holidays in April/May/ June as often this can be the best chance of good weather in Scotland. My holiday year at work starts in October and then I'll be going to Canada for the first time - have always wanted to go but never had the chance. I'm so excited and it's still months away. Lots of plans to make before then! We'll be doing some of that next weekend...

Work tomorrow so better go now!

Cheers
Sheila
