Can't wait for Sgor Gaoith with you! You'll have to go easy on me though! biggrin.gif

Hi Jacqui
I think it might be the other way around, if I don't get fit soon! My legs are aching today - haven't done much running for ages - then on Saturday I decided to try a decent run and am paying the price for a weekend full of exercise today! With all your 10 K's you'll be running up the hill! Anyway, there's no rush getting to the top, might as well make it as pleasant as possible! smile.gif

Thanks for the photos, Annie. Your dog looks great! What's his/her name? And is he/she coming to Kinlochleven? Another pal for Storm Whitts? laugh.gif

Hi Annie,

Thanks for your report and photos. Never mind for the quality of the weather and photos. It is always nice to see what the Brecon Beacons look like even on a grey day.

I am just back from a walk with my nephew in the hills above our village. We walked up to the place where the avalanche stopped. The last avalanche we had went down the cliff three weeks ago. My nephew saw it jumping over the Lavanchy Cliff. Very impressive. There is still some hard-packed snow and some ice where we went. Further down there were lots of rocks and tree trunks left by the avalanche.

Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera but I am planning to buy one very soon and I will post pictures of my walks here in the Alps. I am looking forward to it.

Annie keep posting pictures of Wales. I think that after Scotland, Wales will be my next walking destination, sooner or later.

Sheila, did you have a hillwalk today ???

Greetings from the Alps and thanks again for the interesting posts on this thread.

Phew !! I'm knacked ! laugh.gif

Went out today about Glen Doll with the intention of climbing Craig Mellon only but once I summited at 10.15am the day was just getting beter and better so I decided to hoof over to Loch Esk since I hadn't been there for years. On arriving there, the sun was blazing on Crow Craigies, the highest point of the old drovers route from Glen Doll to Braemar - Jocks Road - so I pushed on for the summit. On arriving here, the Munros of Tolmount and Tom Bhuidhe were only a stones throw away, and the sun was getting warmer and Storm hadn't done them before - get the picture ????? tongue.gif

It was just one of those days where you just had to keep going it was soooo nice.
A 7.5 hour hoof was just what Whittsy boyo needed after the grim spring we have just been lumbered with.

Enjoy !!

Ben Tee next weekend along with Meall Dubh as we're off to Invergarry for four days - so glad the weather is on the up - as you can see !! biggrin.gif

Hi Lionel
It was a beautiful day today but unfortunately I had family commitments and wasn't able to get out for a walk. However, after Friday I will have 2 weeks holiday and am planning to get to the hills for much of the time if the weather is kind to me! First it's a long weekend near Fort William with a bunch of friends, then home for a couple of days then away again, but not sure where yet - wherever the weather is best, maybe for camping, then the last few days will be spent in Gairloch with a couple of friends and finish off with a walk up Sgor Gaoith (in the cairngorms) with Jacqui. I'm hoping May will bring its usual sunshine but now I've said that, it will probably be snow or something like that!

Glad you managed your walk and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your photos when you get your camera.

Best wishes

Hi Whitts,

Thanks very much for sharing your nice pictures. It seems that you had a great day on the hills. I hope you get the same weather next week-end. With today's walk you will be fit for Ben Tee and Meall Dubh. I really like the scenery of the hills when some snow remains on the tops, it gives a better idea of the terrain and the shape of the hills.

Spring hillwalking is really fantastic !

Hi Sheila....no Strider isn't coming to Kinlochleven with me ...he'd create too much havoc and embarrass me as usual biggrin.gif

Sheila,

Your programme for the coming weeks sounds really great. Keep your fingers crossed to get some good weather. I am looking forward to all your reports and pictures of your walks. And when you walk with Jacqui, don't forget to get some extra chocolate bars if you want to take her to the top of Sgor Gaoith.

By the way, you might find some snow on top of Sgor Gaoith. I think there is still plenty of snow on the Cairngorms. Looking forward to watching your pictures and reading your reports.

Have a great time and good luck with the weather,

Greetings from the Alps,

Lionel
