Puffin, great pics, and I love the natural sculpture, the cracked mud and seaweed, and bird-prints-in mud ones. All really artistic, and pretty high definition for web-hosts. smile.gif

LancsDave: yes, enjoy Ben Wyvis, and post some photos for us coastal-plain Ross-shire types! tongue.gif

Rig, you would love it back home just now. The weather is fantastic and so calm. A bit more cloud coming in and not a very good forecast for Lancs Dave, but tonight the Ben just looks amazing, very dark with a lovely sky behind it. Not trying to make you homesick or anything!!! BTW Rig, lovely photos you sent me!

Had a great walk today...managed to do Cribyn and Fan-y-Big...weather was sunny but bit hazy so some of the photos aren't that good. Did about 15 miles altogether.....and managed to catch the sun by the looks of things biggrin.gif

Now need a nicely chilled bottle of Sheppy's Kingston Black cider biggrin.gif

FRiday my self and 3 friends from inverness did a low level walk round Part of loch tay in highland perthshire. I personal could not believe I was less than 1 hour from home. Saturdaty led us to "the hermitage" and "graigvinean forest" loop.
some of the scenery up there is lovely. did not take many pictures but will get them posted when the camera memory card is full. that could be anytime between now and christmas laugh.gif laugh.gif

if your still there and looking for a fairly easy walk there is a black rock viewpoint walk from kenmore and is very good view right along the loch

Hi Stirling Castle,

We would like to watch your pictures before Christmas 2007, please ! tongue.gif laugh.gif

Hi Annie,

15 miles is a good long walk ! Thanks for sharing your pictures. I like the shapes of those hills, very different from my native Alps.

It seems that there are not many hillwalkers on the Welsh hills... though the weather was quite good.

Greetings from the Alps,

Lionel

Today I took my English students Oliver, Abigail, their parents and grand parents for a hillwalk up to the top of Mont Forchat (1539 metres). The weather was a bit cloudy and then it cleared up. We enjoyed sunshine and a nice spring heat. The Mont Forchat is not a very high hill but it gives lovely views over Lake Geneva, Switzerland, the Jura range, the Chablais mountains and of course the Mont Blanc range.

From the Alpage of Très le Mont, we walked up to the Col de l'Encrenaz.

And we could see the top of the hill from the col.

We had the last steep part of the walk to do in order to reach the top.

Reaching the top, we can see the statue of Saint François de Sales, patron saint of journalists in France.

At the top we had our picnic lunch and we enjoyed views over Lake Geneva and Switzerland.

Views over the valley where I live (Val d'Hermone), in the distance are the peaks of Dent d'Oche and Oche.

This is a last picture of Lake Geneva seen from the top.

That was an easy walk but a great day with lots of appreciated sunshine and good company.

Hi Realconon,

You are welcome to visit me one day with your family if you wish and I can take you up there. It's indeed very close to my village. At the foot of the hill is a nice wee restaurant and a bar. Their cheese fondue is the best in the area. So after a walk up Mont Forchat, a nice cheese fondue and several bottles of Ripaille white wine. La vie est belle !!! Life is great.
