Spud, Tiz - is there a charity 3 peaks in the offing. Who's going to train you up Spud?. I did Snowdon, Scafell and Nevis in 24 hours, 10 years ago. That's the best order to do them in. 9 am Snowden, tea time at Seathwaite, Cumbria. Fish and Chips in Keswick 10.30pm, then overnight drive to Nevis, starting ascent at about 2.30am in the dark for a couple of hours and down for Scotch Pie and chips at the cafe at 9, where all the other folk are on bacon and egg!

ohmy.gif For goodness sake, Dave - don't try and kill poor Spud before he starts! laugh.gif

I'll do Snowdon with you, Spud - there's a railway up that one. tongue.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I can't do 'dark', have trouble seeing in the day laugh.gif. Maybe we could raise money for a Runrig nominated good cause (I thought about doing the High Peaks Winter Challenge again this year for them, but maybe its too late to start collecting).

Doing it in 24 hours may be a bit extreme, I have a poorly foot you know laugh.gif laugh.gif.

Tiz!!! It would be an honour mate smile.gif

Hi,

One of my pals here was amazed at my pics of the Cuillins all over my villa. He's done 160 Munros, and we have just agreed to go and do some Italian peaks this weekend, don't know where I'm going perhaps beside Gaeta or south behind Sorrento - can't wait!

Get some practice in for Skye!

Up at 6am Saturday morning and starting the Orchy 5 Corbetts at 7.15 following an overnight stay in Killin.

However, the Orchy 5 are now known as the Orchy 1 !!! laugh.gif

Me and Storm were on the summit of Beinn Odhar by 8.15am in a heat I can struuggle to recall I have ever experienced on the Scottish mountains since I started walking in 1981. We took a toddle over to the bealach of Beinn Chaorach before deciding that a plunge in the river seemed a better idea !! tongue.gif

We were back at the car by 9.30am and spent the rest of the day on the shores of Loch Tay with the "lassies" where the heat climbed to 29 degrees. The beer garden of the Coach House served us some excellent Best and for once I was sheerly delighted not to be in the hills......... cool.gif

Greig, well I'm not surprised you only did one in that heat. I did them all (big head) on the Tuesday and it's the most knackering walk I've ever done. It took 8.25 hours and the slog up the gentle slope of the last one took an age. I didn't see a soul from start until I got back to WHW. Corbetts 1, 2 and 4 are like climbing walls of death. One day, I'll write a full report.

Well done Dave - great effort !

I started early to get my height before the sun got up too high but when I saw the drop to Corbett 2 I thought ice cream and kiss me quick hats for me today.

Be good to see any shots if you took any !! biggrin.gif

Hi Whitts,

And thanks for your lovely sunny pictures. My friends keep asking me if we have a chance to get some nice and sunny weather on the West Coast in August. At least with your pictures I have got a proof that the sun shines in Scotland.

Hi Dave,

Congratulations for your walk ? Did you enjoy a nice drink after the slog ? biggrin.gif
Don't forget the report and maybe some pictures. Always interesting to read and watch pics of your walks in Bonnie Scotland.

Greetings from the Alps,

Lionel

HI,

It was a great day, away at 6am and on the mountain for 7am. 1300m up and a great view of Gaeta and south back towards Napoli and Vesuvio.

If any of you are planning a visit I'll take you to these on my days off!

Awesome, I'm going back again this weekend and will post some pics.

Hi Colin,

I hope it's not too hot over there on the Napolitan hills. Looking forward to watching your next pictures of the area.

Tanti auguri,

Lionel

Got out today over the local Munro of Mount Keen. The colours were spectacular today as the heather is a bonnie and purple. It was fine when I arrived in Glen Esk at 8am and indeed, all the way to Mount Keens summit.
There has been a lot of work done on the upper part of the mountain to minimise the erosion once the summit path splits from the Mounth road - and it now makes walking the upper section of the mountain much easier - and isn't half as ugly a scar as it used to be.
From the summit I continued eastwards over Braid Cairn and followed the county boundary to NAKED HILL !! Yes Tiz - your favourite hill has been conquered at last. Pretty sure Colin would be in his element here too wink.gif ohmy.gif

Here are todays shots but be warned, there are two pictures in this batch that some may find offensive and are cerainly not for children - get my drift o naked one !!!!! biggrin.gif
