great pics annie  i just saw tryfan pics ,tryfan lookes awesome  and the memorial is a beautiful area i was last up there in the winter last year with light snow and mist i think that the most i not sure of the right words but it was the most peaceful, tranquil and beautiful  time i have eve been up there even if i did slip in snow wile taking photo of memorial lol.

Alun .....Tryfan is fantastic you have to do it biggrin.gif .. I have to go back so I can do Bristley Ridge in 2007 tongue.gif ...and you are right about the memorial site...it is one of my 'special' places...as you say it is so peaceful and I find it a little bit eerie too

Been up Pen-y-Fan today  ...needed to blow the cobwebs away after the All Blacks match yesterday  ....we did a new route which we learnt about from one of our mates who is in the local mountain rescue team. Started from Cwm Gwdi and then instead of following the normal path straight up to Pen-y-Fan we skirted around Allt Ddu and went up the re-entrant to the saddle between Cribyn and Pen-y-Fan...then back down Cefn Cwm Llwch. The weather was dry but pretty windy on the top and the hills were verrrrrry wet underfoot ...thank heavens for gaiters...(even if I do hate wearing them)

Next weekend I'm off to Snowdonia to do some scrambling...weather permitting...so watch this space

Annie,

After I solved my problems with photobucket, I have just seen your la-*test*-('") pics. Lovely ones. I wish Wales was a bit closer to the Alps. I would go and hillwalk with you more often !! wink.gif But I must plan a hillwalking trip to the Welsh Alps as soon as possible before they melt. wink.gif laugh.gif

Greetings from the cold cold Alps,

Lionel
