| Been up Pen-y-Fan today ...needed to blow the cobwebs away after the All Blacks match yesterday ....we did a new route which we learnt about from one of our mates who is in the local mountain rescue team. Started from Cwm Gwdi and then instead of following the normal path straight up to Pen-y-Fan we skirted around Allt Ddu and went up the re-entrant to the saddle between Cribyn and Pen-y-Fan...then back down Cefn Cwm Llwch. The weather was dry but pretty windy on the top and the hills were verrrrrry wet underfoot ...thank heavens for gaiters...(even if I do hate wearing them) Next weekend I'm off to Snowdonia to do some scrambling...weather permitting...so watch this space |
