Fantastic pictures lionel as always.

Alun if you want a walking scrambling buddy for tryfan I am your man. I am considering getting up again some time soon.

We had two fantastic times on tryfan the twice I have done it one in snow and a white out and one with fantastic weather. Its a fantastic mountain.

Back home now after The Three Peaks weekend, me and my good friend Ali did the 26miles in just under 11 hours.

I'm feeling quite proud of myself, but my legs are aching like hell and I have pulled my hamstring a little in my right leg.

I will sort some pictures out later

On Sunday the 17th June, my friends (the Menoud family) and I, went hillwalking in a fantastic place called "Cirque du Fer à Cheval" (The Horseshoe Circus). It's in the Northern Alps of Haute Savoie near the famous ski resort of Flaine - Grand Massif.

We had a long walk from 9 a.m until 6:30 pm with a one hour stop at the Lac de la Vogealle (2001 metres). The weather was sunny in the morning and a bit cloudy in the afternoon with a little bit of rain in the last 10 minutes of our walk. The total ascent of the walk was 1100 metres. At the Lac de la Vogealle, there was still some snow and the lake was partly frozen and still under a snow and ice cover.

We enjoyed great views on the Dents Blanches peaks and the Glacier of Prazon. But the most impressive things were tens of beautiful waterfalls coming from the suspended glaciers and neves down into the circus. There was a continuous roaring sound and we had fun to cross all the streams along our walk. Nearly at the end of the walk, we saw that high snow bridge. My friend Jean François crossed it, walking on top of it and I walked under it. Quite a refreshing experience !!!

Thanks Sheila ! I am now one week late to post my walks and I should post my la-*test*-('") walk (Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th) as soon as possible.

I enjoy very much reading your outing reports and watching your pics on the Scottishills forum. A really good message board !

Thanks Celtman and Alun for your comments.

Yes indeed Alun, this tiny mountain lake is a jewel surrounded by mountains. Later in July the snow and ice melts and its colour is dark green. That's a place I like very much.

Did you walk recently Alun apart from your trip to North Wales ?
